We are used to loose, conversational agendas during our strategic planning. What is the actual, hour-by-hour operational rhythm of a session day with you, and how do we prevent it from feeling like an exhausting corporate lecture?
A session day with me is highly structured, disciplined, and intensely practical. It is the polar opposite of a loose, conversational retreat or a corporate lecture. I do not stand at a whiteboard and teach theory. We are there to do real work on your business.
We begin promptly at eight in the morning and conclude by five in the afternoon. The day is divided into clear, time-boxed blocks. We start with a check-in to transition our focus from the daily grind to the big picture. From there, we review your progress on last quarter's Rocks, evaluate your current weekly Scorecard numbers, and assess the health of your organizational habits.
The majority of our day is dedicated to IDS. We list every single issue, bottleneck, and conflict holding the company back, prioritize them, and spend hours solving them one by one.
To prevent decision fatigue and cognitive burnout, we build strategic pauses into the agenda. These are purposeful moments of white space where the team can step away, clear their minds, and rest their brains. This ensures that when we return to the table, our decision-making quality remains high.
By the time we close the day, we will have set your Rocks for the next ninety days and resolved your most critical issues. It is rigorous and demanding, but you will leave with absolute clarity instead of exhaustion.
