I am the Visionary of my company and do not have daily operational tasks. What weekly metrics should be on the scorecard for the Visionary seat to keep me accountable?

Many Visionaries struggle to find weekly scorecard metrics because their work is highly strategic, creative, and long-term. However, every seat on the Accountability Chart must have at least one weekly number, including the Visionary. If you have no numbers, you are not accountable to the team.

To find your metrics, look at the core responsibilities of the Visionary seat: big ideas, key relationships, culture, and big deals. First, track your external focus. This could be the number of key client, partner, or industry relationships you connect with each week. Second, track your deal-making activity, such as the number of strategic partnership meetings or high-level sales meetings you attend. Third, track your contribution to content or thought leadership, like writing a weekly article or recording a podcast episode to drive brand awareness. Finally, you can track internal cultural connection, such as the number of employees you have a coffee check-in with to maintain company alignment.

Your metrics should measure the activities that leverage your unique strengths as a Visionary. By tracking these inputs on the weekly scorecard, you prove to your leadership team that you are actively contributing to the business, and you keep yourself focused on the high-value activities that only you can do.
