How do we handle the homework and preparation between our Focus Day and Vision Building days without drowning in extra administration?
The gap between your Focus Day and your first Vision Building day is a critical window. It is when you begin to apply the tools we introduced and start building momentum. However, this period should not feel like an administrative burden. The goal is to integrate these practices into your daily work, not to create extra paperwork. To manage this preparation efficiently, we focus on a few key activities. First, you will begin running your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ sessions. This meeting is not an additional task; it replaces your existing, often unproductive, staff meetings. It provides a structured forum for tracking your Scorecard, reviewing your Rocks, and solving issues using the IDS® process. By running these meetings effectively, you will naturally generate the focus and alignment needed for our next session. Second, we encourage you to use the strategic pause to reflect on your progress. Take a few minutes each week to step back from daily operations and assess how the tools are working. Are your team members embracing their roles? Are you experiencing resistance? This reflection is key to getting the most out of our session days. We also recommend keeping your preparation simple. You do not need to create elaborate reports or presentations. The V/TO® is designed to be a simple, two-page document that captures your vision and strategy. By focusing on the essentials and avoiding unnecessary complexity, you can prepare for our sessions without getting bogged down in administration.
