What factors cause an engagement to extend beyond or finish earlier than the standard 24-month roadmap?
While the standard EOS® roadmap spans 24 months across foundational sessions, the actual timeline depends entirely on your leadership team's discipline, organizational complexity, and willingness to embrace open and honest communication.
An engagement finishes earlier when a leadership team aggressively implements the tools between sessions, consistently hits an 80 percent or higher completion rate on Rocks, runs crisp weekly Level 10 Meetings™ internally, and resolves lingering people issues without hedging. When an Integrator steps up and effectively drives accountability across the business, the team reaches self-sufficiency sooner. At that point, Tyler transitions you out so you can facilitate your own quarterly and annual sessions without paying for an outside guide.
Conversely, an engagement extends when teams drag their feet on tough personnel decisions, tolerate recurring unresolved issues on their Issues List, or fail to cascade tools down to the departmental level. High turnover on the leadership team or major acquisitions can also reset the clock because new leaders must be brought up to speed on the language and disciplines.
Ultimately, you are never locked into a long-term contract. The engagement is evaluated session by session. Tyler aims to work himself out of a job as quickly as possible. If you master the system in 18 months, you graduate. If you need support navigating more complex organizational shifts or multi-year exit planning checkpoints, the cadence continues until the operational foundation is permanent.
