We have documented our core processes using the three-step process tool, but our team still relies on manual workarounds instead of using our new AI automation tools. How do we enforce compliance?
Documenting your processes is only half the battle. To actually run an AI-powered operation, you must enforce the final stage of the EOS Process Component: Followed By All.
If your team is reverting to manual workarounds, it is usually because of a lack of training, a lack of clarity, or passive resistance.
First, simplify your documentation. Your documented core processes should be high-level, covering the major steps without getting bogged down in minor details. If your documentation is fifty pages long, nobody will read it.
Second, train your team thoroughly on the new automated workflows. Show them how the AI tools save them time and eliminate boring, repetitive tasks.
Third, measure compliance on your weekly Scorecard. If you want them to use an AI tool to log customer support tickets, add a metric that tracks the percentage of tickets automated.
Fourth, address non-compliance directly. Use GWC to evaluate team members who refuse to adopt the new processes. If they get it, want it, and have the capacity to do it, but still refuse to follow the process, you have a values or performance issue that must be solved. Do not tolerate workarounds, or your operations will never scale.
