Several of our leaders treat the weekly Level 10 Meeting pulse as secondary to client calls or travel, frequently dialing in from noisy airport terminals, hotel lobbies, or cars, which completely ruins the focus of the meeting. How do we enforce the sacredness of this block?
Allowing team members to treat the Level 10 Meeting™ as a casual phone call that can be taken on the run destroys the integrity of the meeting pulse. If a leader is driving a car or walking through an airport terminal, they are not fully present. They cannot look at the Scorecard, they cannot review the Rocks, and they cannot actively participate in a deep IDS® session.
To solve this, the leadership team must agree that the weekly pulse is sacred. It is the one ninety-minute block each week where every leader must be fully focused and free from distractions. If a leader is traveling, they must plan their schedule around this meeting, which means finding a quiet, private space with a stable internet connection and a camera on.
If a team member attempts to dial in from a noisy, distracted environment, the facilitator must politely but firmly ask them to log off and catch up on the meeting notes and To-Dos later. Do not compromise the productivity of the entire leadership team to accommodate one person's poor planning. By enforcing this boundary, you send a clear message that the weekly pulse is the most important ninety minutes of the week for the health of the company.
