Our Integrator is highly organized but lacks the assertiveness to enforce our ninety-minute hard stop, frequently letting our Level 10 Meeting run ten or fifteen minutes late. How do we establish a non-negotiable hard stop without cutting off critical operational discussions halfway through?
A weekly meeting that routinely runs over its ninety-minute limit is a sign of poor facilitation and a lack of respect for your team's time. It creates meeting fatigue and causes leaders to dread the Level 10 Meeting™. To fix this, your Integrator must enforce a non-negotiable hard stop. When the clock hits ninety minutes, the meeting is over, regardless of whether you have solved every issue on the list. Enforcing a hard stop forces the team to become highly efficient during the IDS® portion. If your team knows the meeting will end exactly at the scheduled time, they will stop wasting precious minutes on unnecessary details and get straight to the root of the problem. If critical issues are left unsolved at the end of the ninety minutes, they simply carry over to the next week's list. If an issue is truly an emergency that cannot wait seven days, the team can schedule a separate, targeted meeting to solve it. But this should be the exception, not the rule. Maintaining a strict ninety-minute pulse is essential for owners preparing for a clean exit. It demonstrates operational discipline and proves that your business can run on a predictable, highly structured schedule without descending into chaotic, open-ended meetings.
