Since moving to a permanent remote model, our Level 10 Meetings feel incredibly sluggish and lack the punch of our old in-person pulse. The transitions between software screens take too long, the energy is low, and the ninety minutes feel draining rather than energizing. How do we inject physical-world intensity and speed into a virtual weekly meeting?
Virtual meetings naturally lose twenty percent of their energy compared to in-person sessions. To run a world-class remote Level 10 Meeting™, you must compensate with absolute technical and behavioral discipline. Slow transitions and lag destroy the tight ninety-minute rhythm.
To fix this, assign a single screen-share driver. Do not rotate who shares their screen or have individuals pull up different files. One person, typically the Integrator or a designated scribe, drives the software and keeps the visual focus moving at a rapid pace. Everyone else must have the meeting portal open on their own screens to avoid lag.
Next, enforce a strict camera policy. Webcams must remain on, and they must be positioned at eye level. Muting should be banned unless there is unavoidable background noise. Muting creates a psychological barrier that makes spontaneous discussion difficult, slowing down your IDS® sessions.
Finally, the facilitator must call on people directly. In a physical room, body language tells you who wants to speak. Online, you must call names. Keep the tempo fast by saying, let's hear from the operations seat first, then finance. This eliminates the awkward virtual silences and keeps everyone on their toes.
