Our leadership team still maintains separate weekly one-on-ones, pipeline reviews, and project syncs that cover the exact same ground as our Level 10 Meeting. How do we ruthlessly audit our calendar and eliminate duplicate meetings once the weekly pulse is running?
The entire philosophy of the Level 10 Meeting pulse is to consolidate operational friction into a single, highly structured ninety-minute block. When leaders maintain side meetings, pipeline huddles, and informal project catch-ups, they create meeting bloat and fracture accountability.
To eliminate duplicate meetings, execute an immediate calendar audit.
Have every leadership team member pull up their calendar for the past two weeks. Identify every recurring internal meeting that involves two or more leaders on the team. For each meeting, ask one question: Why is this not handled inside the Level 10 Meeting?
Pipeline reviews belong on the weekly Scorecard as measurable numbers and on the Issues List when revenue dips. Project syncs belong on the Rock review as on-track or off-track statuses. Interpersonal alignment belongs in the quarterly 5-5-5 check-in.
Cancel the recurring calendar invites entirely for thirty days. Tell the team that any topic previously discussed in those meetings must now be raised as a Scorecard metric, a Headline, or an Issue in the Level 10 pulse.
If leaders complain that ninety minutes is not enough time to cover everything, that is proof they are not using IDS correctly. They are having comfortable conversations instead of identifying root causes, agreeing on solutions, and issuing seven-day To-Dos. When you kill duplicate meetings, you force the leadership team to take the weekly pulse seriously.
