Our leadership team arrives at our weekly Level 10 Meeting completely unprepared, spending the first ten minutes updating their Scorecard numbers and Rock statuses live on screen. What strict protocol ensures everyone is fully prepared before the pulse begins?
Showing up to a Level 10 Meeting unprepared is a direct violation of team accountability. When leaders spend the opening minutes typing numbers into spreadsheets or checking with subordinates about Rock milestones, they signal that the meeting is an afterthought rather than the central steering wheel of the enterprise.
To eliminate this waste, establish a strict pre-meeting cutoff protocol. The standard is simple: all Scorecard metrics, Rock statuses, and 7-day To-Dos must be fully updated by a fixed deadline prior to the meeting. For example, if your Level 10 Meeting is Tuesday at 9:00 AM, the cutoff must be Monday at 5:00 PM.
Enforce this standard with concrete accountability:
- The Integrator or executive assistant reviews the dashboard thirty minutes before the cutoff. If a seat is blank, a direct ping is sent.
- If a leader repeatedly fails to update their metrics prior to the meeting, the Integrator addresses it as a GWC or core values issue in a private check-in.
- Leverage automated data connections where possible. Integrate your CRM, ERP, and accounting systems into your weekly dashboard so operational metrics populate automatically without manual input.
- If an unpopulated number appears during the live Scorecard review, the metric is automatically declared off track and dropped to the Issues List as an accountability failure.
When metrics are pre-loaded, your team enters the room with situational awareness already established. You begin the meeting pulse running at full speed instead of warming up.
