During our weekly Level 10 Meeting, we frequently have three or four Scorecard metrics marked as pending because our finance or marketing systems take several days to update. How do we eliminate these weekly reporting delays and ensure we have real-time data ready every single week?

If your weekly Scorecard has pending numbers during your Level 10 Meeting™, you are running your business on blind spots. The excuse that data is not ready because systems take time to update is usually a sign of poor habits or inefficient processes. To eliminate reporting delays, establish a hard deadline for data submission. All weekly metrics must be populated by the respective seat owners by a specific time, such as Monday at noon, ahead of your meeting. If your systems cannot produce real-time weekly data, change what you are measuring. For example, if your accounting software cannot calculate exact gross margin on a weekly basis, do not leave that slot blank. Instead, track a weekly proxy metric that is easy to pull, such as the total billable hours logged versus planned hours. You can also transition to tracking activities rather than complex system calculations. If your CRM reports are delayed, have your sales reps log their calls directly into a shared tracking document immediately after completion. A healthy EOS® culture requires that every number is fresh and accurate. If a metric is consistently pending, treat it as an issue, put it on the Issues List, and IDS® it to find a simpler, faster way to capture the data.
