The weekly Level 10 Meeting™ is designed to save time, not waste it. Yet, many leadership teams lose fifteen to twenty minutes because members insist on explaining why their scorecard metrics are green or why their Rocks are on track. This verbal reporting is redundant and kills the momentum of the meeting. You must enforce a strict, binary rule during the scorecard and Rock review: if a number is green, say green. If a Rock is on track, say on track. There are no stories, no context, and no updates allowed for items that are meeting expectations. The only acceptable response for a red metric or an off-track Rock is drop it to the Issues List. This direct approach shifts the focus of the meeting from reporting to problem-solving. If a leader feels the need to brag about a win, they can share it during the customer or employee headlines segment. The scorecard and Rock reviews are strictly administrative checks to identify variances. By eliminating the narrative, you free up valuable time for IDS®, which is where the real value of the meeting is created.
