During our remote Level 10 Meetings, we waste precious minutes on screen-share handoffs, hunting for links, and waiting for team members to update their own tracking software live on screen. How do we eliminate this digital friction and keep our virtual meeting pulse as fast-paced as an in-person session?
Digital friction is the silent killer of the remote Level 10 Meeting™. Waiting for someone to find a link or update their scorecard live on screen completely drains the team's momentum. To fix this, you must treat your virtual meeting space with the same discipline as a physical boardroom.
- First, establish a strict rule that all scorecards, Rock updates, and To-Dos must be fully updated before the meeting starts. If a leader is updating their numbers during the meeting, they are unprepared and should be marked off-track.
- Second, assign a single screen-share pilot for the entire meeting. This is typically the Integrator or a designated administrative assistant. One person shares their screen and navigates the agenda, scorecards, and issues list, while everyone else focuses entirely on active participation. No one should be clicking around in different windows or changing screens.
- Third, use a single, shared software platform for your meeting agenda and documentation. Keep all relevant links pinned to the top of your virtual meeting room.
By eliminating the lag of screen transitions and live administrative updates, you keep the focus entirely on solving issues and maintaining your weekly pulse.
