What is the exact distinction between our quarterly sessions and our two-day annual session, and how does the preparation differ for our leadership team?
Our quarterly sessions and your annual sessions serve entirely different purposes, requiring distinct preparation and mental frameworks from your leadership team.
A quarterly session is a one-day execution sprint. The focus is on reviewing the previous quarter, solving immediate bottlenecks using IDS®, and setting new Rocks for the next ninety days. Your preparation is operational. You must arrive with your scorecard updated, your Rock completion rates finalized, and your individual issues documented.
An annual session is a two-day strategic reset. Day one is dedicated to evaluating your team health, reviewing the previous year, and digging deep into the V/TO®. Day two focuses on setting your budget, defining your three-year picture, establishing your one-year plan, and setting the Rocks for the first quarter of the new year.
Preparation for the annual session requires a higher level of strategic reflection. Each leader must complete a thorough self-evaluation of their seat, assess their departmental health, and prepare to discuss long-term market trends. While quarterlies keep you on track, annuals ensure you are still heading in the right direction.
