We have rolled out Level 10 Meetings™ to our sales, operations, and finance departments, but these departmental meetings are becoming siloed and we are losing visibility into what they are working on. How do we maintain alignment and ensure issues cascade correctly between the leadership L10 and departmental L10s?
As you roll out Level 10 Meetings™ down the Accountability Chart, departments can easily become siloed if you do not actively manage the cascade of information. To maintain alignment across all tiers of your organization, you must master two key integration tools: the scorecard rollup and the cascading messages segment.
First, ensure that the metrics on your departmental scorecards directly support the high-level metrics on your leadership team scorecard. If a department is hitting its weekly numbers but the company is still missing its primary targets, your metrics are misaligned.
Second, use the cascading messages segment at the end of every Level 10 Meeting™ to decide exactly what information needs to be shared with the rest of the organization. This ensures a consistent message is delivered immediately.
Finally, establish a clear path for issues to travel up and down. If a departmental team cannot solve an issue within their own weekly meeting, they must push it up to the leadership team. Conversely, if the leadership team identifies an issue that requires departmental execution, it must be pushed down to that specific department L10. This structured flow keeps your entire organization connected and operating at a high level.
