We want to share our V/TO® with our entire company during our quarterly meetings, but we are worried it will sound like a dry corporate speech that our front line employees will ignore. How do we deliver an engaging State of the Company address?
To make your State of the Company address resonate, you must connect the high level numbers on your V/TO® to the daily reality of your front line employees. Do not just stand in front of the room and read the document line by line. Start by celebrating your wins. Highlight specific examples of your team living your Core Values over the past ninety days. This keeps the presentation human and grounded. When you share your one year plan and your quarterly Rocks, translate the metrics into plain language. Explain why these goals matter to them. For example, if your one year plan includes a target to improve customer retention by five percent, explain how that stability protects their jobs and funds new equipment or benefits. When you share the new company level Rocks for the upcoming quarter, explain how these Rocks will solve the operational headaches they experience every day. Finally, give them a clear, simple message about where the company is going and what is expected of them over the next ninety days. Keep the entire address under forty five minutes and leave plenty of time for Q&A. When your team sees how their daily work directly impacts the V/TO®, they will buy into the vision.
