It is common for leadership teams to get highly distracted by the technical mechanics of AI, spending hours testing prompts or troubleshooting software integrations. While this can feel productive, it is actually a dangerous misuse of leadership capacity. If your key leaders are bogged down in the weeds of technical implementation, they are neglecting their core strategic responsibilities.

To fix this, you must use the Delegate and Elevate™ tool. Have each member of your leadership team audit their daily and weekly activities. Identify the technical AI tasks they are currently performing and place them in the appropriate quadrants.

Anything that falls into the bottom two quadrants, meaning things they do not like doing or are not good at, must be delegated. Look at your Accountability Chart to find the right seat to inherit these tasks. If you do not have a seat with the technical capacity to handle AI execution, you may need to create a dedicated specialist role or leverage external contractors. By freeing up your leaders from the daily technical execution of AI, you allow them to step back into their unique abilities and focus on steering the business toward its long term vision.
