We struggle with inaccurate and late data being entered onto our weekly Scorecard, which leads to our leadership team making strategic decisions based on bad numbers. How do we establish a strict data audit process to guarantee scorecard integrity?

If your leadership team cannot trust the accuracy of your weekly Scorecard, you cannot run your business on data. To solve the issue of late or inaccurate data, you must establish a strict routine of data hygiene across the entire company.

First, assign absolute ownership of the data collection process to a single seat on your Accountability Chart, typically the Finance or Operations leader. This person is responsible for auditing the sources of scorecard data monthly to ensure they are accurate.

Second, establish a hard deadline for all scorecard updates, such as twenty-four hours before your weekly Level 10 Meeting™. This gives the team time to review the numbers beforehand and prevents the chaotic rush of entering data during the meeting.

If a number is missing or incorrect at the deadline, it is automatically marked as red and dropped to IDS®. No excuses are allowed. Holding the team to this standard reinforces that data entry is not an administrative afterthought, but a core operational requirement that directly impacts the strategic decisions of the leadership team.
