Our CRM and our billing software show conflicting numbers every single week for our closed-won deals, leading to endless debates during our Level 10 Meeting. How do we establish a single source of truth for our Scorecard without waiting on a massive IT overhaul?
Data disputes in your Level 10 Meeting will completely stall your progress. If your team spends fifteen minutes arguing about whose data is correct, you are wasting valuable time that should be spent on IDS. You must establish a single source of truth immediately.
To resolve this without a massive IT project, the leadership team must agree on which system holds the official, binding record for each specific metric. For closed-won deals and revenue metrics, the billing or accounting software should almost always be the source of truth, as it represents actual cash and binding contracts.
Once you agree on the source of truth, document the exact definition and the system of record for that metric. This definition must be clear, objective, and accessible to everyone on the team.
If the CRM data does not match the billing software, that is an operational issue that the sales leader must resolve outside of the Level 10 Meeting. The sales leader is responsible for updating the CRM to match the billing records, not the other way around.
By enforcing a single source of truth, you eliminate data debates from your meetings. Your team can trust the Scorecard numbers, allowing you to focus on solving actual issues and building a clean, scalable business that is ready for a successful exit.
