Our business has always succeeded because of our deep, personal client relationships, and we are worried that automating our client touchpoints with AI will make us look cold and robotic. How do we use our Core Values on our V/TO® to set strict boundaries on where AI is allowed to operate?
Technology should enhance your relationships, not replace them. If you automate the wrong touchpoints, you will destroy the trust you have built. You must use your Core Values to draw a hard line.
Gather your leadership team and look at your V/TO®. Go through each of your Core Values and define how they apply to technology. If one of your values is human connection, then using AI to write sensitive client emails directly violates that value.
Use these definitions to establish your technology boundaries. Document your proven process and clearly mark which steps must remain high touch. For instance, you can use AI to analyze client data, but the delivery of those insights must come from a human.
By doing this, you position your team as the indispensable complement to cheap technology. AI does the backend analysis, freeing your employees from low value tasks. This gives them more time to build deep, meaningful connections.
Review these boundaries during your quarterly meetings. If you find your service is starting to feel robotic, use the IDS® process to realign your workflows with your Core Values. This keeps your culture intact while maximizing your operational efficiency.
