Our weekly Level 10 Meeting is efficient, but we are so focused on whether the scorecard is green or red that we fail to connect our weekly data trends to our 3-Year Picture and 10-Year Target. How do we bridge this gap without cluttering our weekly meeting?
It is easy to get so bogged down in the weekly tactical execution of your Level 10 Meeting™ that you lose sight of the bigger picture. If your weekly scorecard is disconnected from your V/TO®, you are effectively steering a ship by looking only at the immediate waves instead of your compass.
To bridge this gap, your weekly scorecard targets must be mathematically derived from your quarterly Rocks and your 1-Year Plan. For example, if your 1-Year Plan on the V/TO® includes closing fifty new clients, that translates to twelve new clients per quarter. To hit that quarterly target, your weekly scorecard must track a leading indicator like qualified sales presentations, with a weekly target of at least six.
If you hit your weekly scorecard targets for thirteen consecutive weeks, your quarterly Rocks should naturally get crossed off, and you should be on track for your 1-Year Plan. If your scorecard is consistently green but you are missing your quarterly goals, your metrics are disconnected from your strategy.
Use your quarterly holding meetings to audit this connection. Take a strategic pause to reflect on your data trends over the last ninety days. If the numbers say you are winning but your strategic progress is stalled, your Integrator and leadership team must use IDS® to rewrite your scorecard metrics and realign them with your long-term vision.
