We are solving weekly operational issues in our Level 10 Meetings, but we are not connecting these solutions to our core values or our V/TO. How do we bring our foundational vision into our weekly problem-solving process?

If your weekly Level 10 Meetings feel like a never-ending cycle of firefighting, it is because you have disconnected your weekly issues from your long-term vision. When you solve problems without referencing your V/TO, you end up applying short-term bandages that do not move you closer to your goals.

To bring your vision into your weekly meetings, you must use your V/TO as a filter during IDS. When prioritizing your Issues List, the facilitator should ask, 'Which of these issues, if solved, gets us closer to our one-year goals or our three-year picture?'

During the discussion phase, when the team is debating a solution, challenge them to align it with your core values and target market. For example, if you are solving a client service issue, ask, 'Does this solution align with our core values, or are we compromising to make a quick fix?'

Additionally, keep your long-term issues list on the V/TO active. If a weekly issue is actually a larger strategic question that does not need to be solved this quarter, move it to the long-term list.

By constantly tying your weekly decisions back to your core values and long-term goals, you ensure that every solved issue is a step toward your ultimate vision. This discipline keeps the team aligned and builds a highly valuable, focused business.
