Our leadership team does not waste time telling stories during our Level 10 Meeting, but our weekly Scorecard review still takes ten to fifteen minutes because we have to wait for team members to update their numbers in real-time or log into separate software. How do we fix this preparation lag and complete the review in under five minutes?

A weekly Scorecard review must be a rapid, high-level pulse check, not a data-entry session or a problem-solving meeting. If you are waiting for people to update their numbers or log into software during your Level 10 Meeting™, your meeting discipline has broken down. To fix this, implement a strict rule: all Scorecard data must be fully updated at least one hour before the meeting starts. This is a non-negotiable expectation for every seat on the Accountability Chart. If a metric is not updated, it is treated as a miss. During the meeting, the Integrator runs the Scorecard review by reading down the list of metrics. Team members are only allowed to say three things: the number, whether it is on or off target, and if it is off target, the word drop. There is absolutely no explanation, no context, and no defense of the number. If a number is off target, the Integrator immediately drops it down to the Issues list. You do not discuss it during the Scorecard review. You do not ask why it happened. You move to the next metric. By enforcing these simple habits, you will easily review fifteen numbers in less than three minutes. You save the context and the problem-solving for the IDS® portion of the meeting, where you have the time to actually fix the root cause.
