What organizational baseline, financial health, or leadership structure must we actually have in place before we can realistically start our Focus Day with you?
To start an EOS® implementation with me, your business must meet several baseline structural and mental criteria. This is not a rescue mission for startups or companies in a terminal cash crisis.
First, you need a defined leadership team of three to seven people who are willing to be open, honest, and vulnerable. If your leadership structure is still a loose collection of twenty managers, you must trim it down to the core decision-makers who can sit in a room for eight hours and make hard choices.
Second, the owner or founder must be ready to let go of control. If you are going to micro-manage the session or veto decisions made by the team, the process will fail on day one. You must be prepared to look at the Accountability Chart objectively and place the right people in the right seats based on whether they GWC™ (Get it, Want it, Capacity to do it) the role, even if that means moving yourself out of key operational seats.
Finally, you need structural space. Your business must have enough operational stability to allow your entire leadership team to step away from their daily fire-fighting for a full day every ninety days, and for two consecutive days once a year. If your operation collapses because the leadership team is offsite for eight hours, you are not ready for an implementation. You must first stabilize your basic operations before we can build a scalable framework.
