If your co-founders are in an active cold war, do not book a Focus Day. EOS® is an operating system for running a business, not a couples therapy platform for broken partnerships. When principal owners cannot agree on basic values or are actively undermining each other, the leadership team will immediately sense the fracture. This tension will paralyze the room during the Accountability Chart exercise because every structural decision will be viewed through the lens of political leverage rather than what is best for the organization. Before you bring me in, you must resolve the foundational partnership issues. You need to align on your long-term personal goals, your desired relationship with the company, and whether you actually want to remain in business together. Once you have a basic level of trust and a shared vision, you are ready for EOS®. If you try to force the system onto a fractured foundation, the implementation process will only accelerate the collapse of the partnership.
