I am the co-owner of the business and currently hold the Head of Marketing seat, but my business partner says I am failing to GWC this seat because I am too focused on our AI operations rollouts. I do not want to hand over marketing because it has always been my baby. How do we resolve this co-owner conflict objectively?

This is a common hurdle in founder-led businesses, but to prepare for a clean exit, you must treat your roles as separate from your ownership equity. You may own fifty percent of the company, but on the Accountability Chart, you are just an employee occupying a seat.

If you are missing marketing Rocks because your focus is pulled toward AI operations, you do not have the capacity for the marketing seat. Furthermore, if you are more excited about AI systems, your Want It factor for marketing is declining. You must put the company first and step out of the seat.

To resolve this with your business partner, take these steps:
- Use the GWC™ tool honestly, asking yourself if you truly have the mental energy, time, and focus to deliver on the marketing scorecards.
- Realize that stepping out of marketing does not mean losing control; it means you are delegating the execution so you can elevate your impact elsewhere.
- Define a transition plan where you hire or promote a marketing leader who reports to the Integrator, allowing you to focus on your AI and operations seats.

By letting go of the vine, you build a more valuable, scalable business that is highly attractive to future buyers.
