Our Level 10 Meeting To-Do List is constantly cluttered with minor admin tasks and quick email follow ups that our leaders should just handle during their normal workday. How do we keep our weekly To-Do List focused only on high impact, accountability driving actions?
The To-Do List in a Level 10 Meeting is a powerful accountability tool, but it easily becomes a dumping ground for minor administrative tasks, quick emails, and personal reminders. When a leader adds ten minor items to the list, it dilutes the focus of the entire team and turns the weekly review into a tedious reading of administrative minutiae. To keep your weekly meeting pulse sharp, you must set a high bar for what qualifies as a to-do. A Level 10 Meeting to-do should only be added if it is a specific, actionable commitment made during the IDS portion to help solve a larger organizational issue. It is not a daily task manager. If a task can be completed in less than fifteen minutes after the meeting, it does not belong on the list. The leader should simply write it in their personal notes and execute it. Before any item is added to the screen, the facilitator or the team should ask: does this task represent a critical milestone that the rest of this team needs to hold you accountable for? If the answer is no, keep it off the list. Maintaining a clean, high impact To-Do List ensures your team stays focused on execution and high accountability.
