Our Level 10 Meeting™ Issues List has grown to over thirty items, and we waste five minutes every week just scrolling through it and deciding where to start. How do we aggressively curate and clean our Issues List to keep it focused and manageable?

A bloated Issues List is a sign of decision paralysis. If you have thirty items on your weekly list, you are using it as a junk drawer rather than a strategic tool.

To clean this up, the Integrator and facilitator must run a purge. First, differentiate between weekly operational issues and long-term strategic issues. If an issue does not need to be solved in the next seven days, it does not belong on your Level 10 Meeting™ list. Move it to the long-term issues list on your V/TO®, where it can be addressed during your quarterly planning session.

Second, look at where the issues are coming from. Many items belong in departmental Level 10 Meetings™ rather than the leadership team level. If an issue can be solved within the sales, marketing, or operations departments without leadership intervention, push it down to the appropriate seat on the Accountability Chart.

Finally, delete the duplicates and the dead weight. If an item has sat on the list for more than four weeks without being prioritized, delete it. If it is truly important, it will resurface. Keep your weekly list under fifteen high-impact items to maintain focus.
