We have been rotating the facilitator role in our Level 10 Meeting™ to give every leader a chance to develop their skills, but this has led to a total loss of consistency and weak accountability during IDS®. How do we choose the single best permanent facilitator for our team?

Rotating the facilitator role is a structural mistake that dilutes the efficiency of your weekly pulse. Effective facilitation requires a unique set of skills: laser-like focus, strong time-management, and the confidence to interrupt colleagues and hold them accountable in real-time.

When you rotate this role, you get inconsistent meeting quality. A quiet, analytical leader might allow the team to drift into long discussions, while a highly creative leader might get distracted by new ideas.

To choose the single best permanent facilitator, you must look at the seats on your Accountability Chart and evaluate who has the natural capacity and strength for the role.

Typically, this seat is held by the Integrator, as they are naturally wired to drive execution and maintain discipline across the leadership team. However, if the Integrator needs to focus entirely on participating in the problem-solving, you can assign the facilitator role to another leadership team member.

Look for someone who is direct, organized, comfortable with constructive conflict, and deeply respected by the rest of the team. This person must be willing to play the role of the referee, keeping the meeting moving on schedule and calling out any violations of the Level 10 Meeting™ rules.

Once you assign this permanent seat, support them fully. A consistent facilitator builds the pattern recognition needed to spot meeting waste and run a highly efficient, high-impact session week after week.
