We designed our Accountability Chart during Focus Day™, but a major shift occurred. Do we adjust our structure mid-quarter or wait for our next session?
The Accountability Chart is a dynamic blueprint for your organization, but constant structural changes mid-quarter can disrupt your team and erode accountability.
As a general rule, major structural adjustments should be saved for your next scheduled quarterly session. Use your quarterly planning cycle to review the Accountability Chart with your Professional EOS Implementer® to ensure changes are made strategically.
However, if a sudden event, such as a major financial shift or the loss of a key executive, threatens your operations, you must act immediately. Do not leave critical seats empty or allow structural gaps to persist for weeks.
When making emergency mid-quarter changes, focus purely on the needs of the business, not the personalities of the team. Define the seat functions first. Ensure that whoever fills the new role meets the GWC™ criteria.
Once the decision is made, communicate the structure changes clearly to your entire team to prevent rumors. Keep the adjustments as isolated as possible, then use your next quarterly session to review the entire system holistically.
