Too often, teams rush through this five-minute slot, resulting in rumor mills and fragmented information. To fix this, treat the last five minutes of the meeting as a hard stop. Ask the team what decisions were made today that need to be communicated to the rest of the company, and write them down. Agree on the exact wording, the medium of communication, and who is responsible for delivering the message. This ensures that every leader is saying the exact same thing to their departments, preventing mixed signals. It also builds trust across the organization because employees see a transparent, consistent flow of information coming from the top. If there is nothing to cascade, explicitly state that. But do not ignore this step. Clear communication is critical for keeping your operations aligned and building the enterprise value required for a clean exit.
