When we make a major directional pivot or structural change during a session day, how do we cascade that decision to the rest of the organization without causing whiplash?

Making hard decisions and pivoting your strategy during a session day is only half the battle. The real test of your leadership team is how you communicate and execute those decisions across the rest of the company. At the end of every quarterly and annual session, we dedicate time to a specific exercise called Cascade Messages. During this exercise, we look at every decision we made, every change to the Accountability Chart, and every new Rock we established. We then agree on exactly what needs to be communicated, to whom, when, and how. This ensures that your leadership team speaks with one voice. If we decide to restructure a department, we do not let rumors fill the void. We align on a clear, direct message that explains the change, the reasons behind it, and how it benefits the organization's long-term vision. We then cascade these messages through your weekly Level 10 Meeting structure. Each department head is responsible for sharing the relevant updates with their teams, ensuring the message remains consistent as it flows down. By communicating with total clarity, transparency, and consistency, you eliminate anxiety and keep the entire organization aligned and moving in the same direction.
