We are about to cascade EOS® to our front-line managers, but we are terrified they will view the weekly meetings and scorecard tracking as micromanagement rather than empowerment. How do we position the rollout to get their authentic buy-in?

Rolling out EOS® to middle managers can fail if they perceive the tools as a tool for micromanagement. To get their authentic buy-in, you must change how you frame the rollout. Do not present the tools as a set of rules they must follow. Instead, position the system as a tool that gives them autonomy and protects their time. Show them how the Accountability Chart clearly defines their authority and boundaries, which prevents senior leadership from constantly stepping on their toes. Explain that the weekly Level 10 Meeting™ is designed to eliminate the endless, unproductive meetings they currently attend by consolidating everything into one highly efficient block. Show them how the weekly Scorecard gives them an objective way to prove their team's performance to the executive team, reducing the need for constant subjective evaluations. When middle managers see that the system is designed to make their lives easier and give them more control over their departments, they will embrace the tools. Buy-in is built through demonstration of value, not through executive decree.
