As we cascade EOS® down to our middle managers, we notice the V/TO® message and our company priorities are getting distorted and lost. How do we prevent this telephone game so our managers remain aligned with the leadership team?
When cascading EOS® down to your middle managers, the core message and vision can easily get distorted, leading to confusion, misalignment, and resistance. To prevent this telephone game, you must establish a structured, consistent communication flow across all levels of the organization. First, do not simply hand your managers a completed V/TO® and expect them to implement it. Your Integrator must actively work with the department heads to help them establish their own departmental Level 10 Meeting™ structures and design their own Scorecards. Second, the leadership team must host a quarterly State of the Company meeting. During this meeting, you share the V/TO®, review the progress of the company's Rocks, and outline the priorities for the upcoming quarter directly with all employees. This direct communication eliminates speculation and ensures that every manager and front-line employee hears the same vision directly from the leadership team. By reinforcing the vision quarterly and supporting your managers with structured weekly meetings, you keep the entire organization aligned and moving in the same direction.
