Cascading EOS® tools down to middle management is essential for alignment, but it often triggers complaints about meeting fatigue. If your department heads feel that the Level 10 Meeting™ is hurting their productivity, it is usually because they are running them incorrectly or failing to see the time-saving value of the meeting structure.

The Level 10 Meeting™ is designed to save time, not waste it. A properly run weekly meeting eliminates the need for dozens of ad-hoc status updates, emails, and interruptions throughout the week. To resolve meeting fatigue during a rollout, you must enforce the discipline of the tool.

- Keep the meetings to a strict ninety minutes and always start and end on time. If a meeting regularly runs over, the team is likely discussing issues instead of moving straight to IDS®.
- Ensure the Scorecard and Rock reviews are rapid-fire. These sections should take less than five minutes each. They are not status reports; they are simply to identify what is on track and what needs to go to the Issues List.
- Teach your middle managers to ruthlessly move non-urgent discussions to the weekly Issues List.

When meetings are highly structured and focused on solving real problems, your managers will realize they have more uninterrupted time during the week to focus on execution. The structure actually creates the freedom they are looking for.
