We have created a great leadership team scorecard, but we are struggling to connect these high-level metrics to the individual measurables for our front-line staff. How do we cascade scorecard numbers down the organization?
Cascading your weekly scorecard metrics from the leadership team down to individual front line employees is how you build true alignment throughout the entire organization. If your front line employees do not see how their daily activities impact the company's high level goals, your data component will remain weak.
To connect these dots, you must work backward from your leadership team scorecard. Look at a major metric on your master scorecard, such as weekly customer retention.
Next, look at the department responsible for that metric on the Accountability Chart. For customer service, the departmental scorecard might track weekly response time and first contact resolution rate. These are the operational drivers of customer satisfaction.
Finally, break those departmental metrics down into individual measurables for each team member. An individual customer service representative might have a measurable of answering thirty support tickets per day with a satisfaction rating of ninety five percent or higher.
By structuring your data this way, the front line employee knows exactly how their daily work feeds the department's success, which in turn protects the leadership team's master scorecard.
Give every person in your company one to three individual numbers that they can control. When everyone owns a measurable, they can self manage their performance. This turns your scorecard from a top down reporting tool into a grassroots operational driver.
