The idea that you can run a scaling business without an Integrator is a common Visionary delusion. While it may feel like the Integrator seat adds bureaucracy, the reality is that without an Integrator, you do not have a functional business; you have a collection of chaotic ideas.

The Visionary and Integrator relationship is the most critical partnership in any EOS company. As the Visionary, your strength is big-picture thinking, culture, and high-level relationships. Your instinct is to pivot quickly. The Integrator is the logical counterweight. Their job is to run the business, manage the leadership team, and execute your vision.

If you eliminate the Integrator seat, you will force yourself to manage the day-to-day operations. This will drain your energy, distract you from your unique ability, and frustrate your leadership team, who will receive conflicting directions from you.

If you find that your Integrator is slowing you down, the solution is not to eliminate the seat. The solution is to IDS the friction. You may have the wrong person in the seat, or you may not have established clear boundaries. Keep the seat, define the roles, and find the right partner.
