Our company has a history of failed management initiatives, and our staff is highly skeptical of EOS® as just another program of the month. How do we build trust and buy-in during our initial rollout?
You build trust through immediate, visible results, not through big speeches. Do not launch EOS® with a massive announcement or a multi-page manual. Start quiet. Run your leadership team on the system for at least one full quarter before you roll it out to anyone else. Your staff needs to see a change in how you operate before they are asked to participate. When they observe that leadership meetings are shorter, decisions are made faster, and problems are actually getting solved without drama, their skepticism will begin to fade. Once you do roll out the tools, start small. Introduce the Level 10 Meeting™ first, as it provides immediate value by eliminating useless meetings and resolving long-standing issues. Do not overwhelm them with the entire system at once. Prove that this is not a passing phase by maintaining absolute consistency in your own disciplines. If they see you stick to the system through tough quarters, they will realize it is here to stay and will buy into the process.
