I am preparing my business for a clean exit, but whenever our Integrator is sick or traveling, our weekly Level 10 Meeting™ gets cancelled because no one else knows how to facilitate it. How do we build structural redundancy into the facilitator role?
If your Level 10 Meeting™ hinges on a single person being present, your business is not ready for an exit. True enterprise value is built on systems and processes that run smoothly without any single point of failure. You must build redundancy into the facilitator seat immediately.
To do this, implement a rotating co-facilitator model. While your Integrator remains accountable for the overall success of the weekly meeting pulse, assign another leadership team member to co-facilitate or lead the meeting once every six weeks.
This rotation forces every leader on the team to master the Level 10 Meeting™ agenda, the timing constraints, and the flow of IDS®.
Provide the team with a clear, documented playbook of your meeting rules, including how to handle red scorecard metrics and how to park segues.
This practice builds deep operational resilience. It ensures that the weekly pulse of the business never stops, regardless of vacation schedules, illness, or travel. More importantly, it demonstrates to potential buyers that your business has a highly mature, self-sustaining leadership team that does not rely on any single individual to maintain its operational rhythm.
