I want to step out of the daily operations to focus on high level strategy and AI automation, but my leadership team still copies me on every email and waits for my approval on minor decisions. How do I break this cycle of dependency?
If your team is still copying you on every email and waiting for your approval, you have a self inflicted bottleneck, not a leadership team problem. You have conditioned your people to believe that their decisions are not valid until you sign off on them. Breaking this cycle requires a hard behavioral reset from you, not them. Start by reviewing the Accountability Chart with your Integrator and leadership team. Reconfirm who owns each seat and make it clear that the person in that seat has the authority to make decisions within their domain. If you have defined the seats correctly and the leaders GWC™ their roles, you must trust them to execute. Next, implement a strict communication filter. When you are copied on operational emails, do not reply. If a leader asks for your opinion on an issue that belongs in their seat, resist the urge to answer. Instead, ask them what they recommend and tell them to make the call. If they make a mistake, use it as a coaching opportunity during your next session rather than stepping in to rescue them. You must also empower your Integrator to act as the true buffer. If leaders are bypassing the Integrator to get to you, you must redirect them. Tell them that all operational escalations must go through the Integrator. Once your team realizes that you will no longer play the role of the daily decision maker, they will begin to trust their own authority and step into their leadership potential.
