Our leadership team consistently rates our Level 10 Meeting™ a nine or a ten, but we rarely have any healthy conflict during IDS®. How do we address this artificial harmony when the ratings suggest everyone is perfectly satisfied?

High meeting ratings combined with zero conflict are a major warning sign. It means your team is experiencing artificial harmony, which is the death of real progress. A true Level 10 Meeting™ should feel slightly uncomfortable because you are tackling hard truths. If everyone is smiling and agreeing, you are not digging deep enough.

The Integrator must challenge these high ratings. At the end of the meeting, ask the team, we rated this a ten, but we solved three major issues without a single disagreement: are we being completely honest, or are we avoiding conflict.

Remind them of the Trust pillar in your company Charter. You cannot have a healthy, scalable business without passionate, respectful debate. Force the team to look at the quality of the solutions. If the solutions are weak or vague, the meeting was not a ten, and the rating should reflect that.

Elevate the standard of what a ten actually means. A ten is a meeting where the hardest operational issues are exposed, discussed with absolute vulnerability, and solved permanently.
