What is the single biggest operational mistake leadership teams make during the first sixty days after Focus Day?

The most common and destructive mistake teams make after Focus Day is treating the initial tools as optional while waiting for the full rollout. Some executives believe that because they have not yet completed Vision Building 1 and 2, the operating system is not fully live.

Focus Day introduces five foundational tools: the Accountability Chart, the Rocks, the Scorecard, the Level 10 Meeting, and the To-Do List. These five tools form the execution engine of the business. If you do not enforce them immediately, your implementation will lose momentum before it even starts.

During those first sixty days, your Integrator must ruthlessly police the weekly disciplines. The Level 10 Meeting must occur at the same time and day every single week, without cancellation for travel or client fires. Scorecards must be updated twenty-four hours before the meeting. Rocks must be reviewed weekly. To-Dos must maintain an 80 percent completion rate.

If team members are permitted to show up unprepared or skip updating their numbers because the system is new, you establish a baseline of compliance rather than accountability. Commit to the disciplines 100 percent from day one. Do not run EOS halfway.
