We are constantly distracted by immediate customer fires and production issues. How do we keep our quarterly sessions with you focused on long-term enterprise value and exit readiness instead of getting bogged down in weekly tactical problems?
It is incredibly easy for a leadership team to let the urgent crowd out the important. To prevent weekly tactical problems from hijacking our quarterly sessions, we enforce strict rules of engagement in the room. Our session days are designed as a strategic pause, a full day of white space where daily operational distractions are completely shut out.
Before we enter the room, your team must delegate day-to-day operational coverage to their direct reports. Once inside, we do not discuss weekly scorecard metrics or individual customer fires unless they point to a systemic, organization-wide issue. If a tactical problem is brought up, I will immediately park it or push it down to your weekly Level 10 Meeting™.
We dedicate our session time exclusively to high-level strategic issues, refining your V/TO®, evaluating your Accountability Chart, and setting major Rocks that directly impact your enterprise value. We look at your financial health through long-term metrics like your Time to Starve runway to ensure we are building a durable asset. By maintaining this strict boundary between daily execution and strategic planning, we protect your cognitive energy and ensure every minute of our session is spent building a highly valuable, exit-ready company.
