We want to leverage AI to automate our weekly EOS® Scorecard data collection and analysis, but we are worried this automation will make our leaders less personally connected to their numbers. How do we balance modern technological efficiency with human accountability?
Automating your weekly EOS® Scorecard data collection can save hours of administrative work, but it comes with a major risk. When a machine generates the numbers, your leaders can easily distance themselves from the results. If a measurable is red, a leader might blame the algorithm or the data integration rather than taking personal responsibility.
To prevent this disconnect, you must separate data collection from accountability. AI tools are excellent for aggregating data and predicting trends, but a human must still own the seat. The owner of the measurable must manually verify and present their numbers during the Level 10 Meeting™.
Use AI to automate the prep work, but require your leaders to interpret the data. If a number is off-track, the person who owns that seat must explain why and immediately drop it to the Issues list. Do not let technology become a shield for poor performance.
By combining the speed of AI with the clear accountability of the EOS® framework, you get the best of both worlds. You eliminate the busywork of pulling reports while ensuring your leadership team remains deeply connected to the operational metrics that drive your company's value.
