We are trying to run AI-powered operations and want to automate the collection of our weekly Scorecard metrics from our CRM and accounting tools. However, we are worried that if an automated script or AI agent inputs the numbers, our leadership team members will lose their psychological ownership of those metrics. How do we automate our data collection while preserving absolute personal accountability for the numbers?

Integrating AI-powered operations and automated data pipelines to populate your weekly Scorecard is an excellent way to save time, but it introduces a major risk of eroding personal accountability. In the EOS® framework, every single metric on the Scorecard must have one owner. If a number is automated and automatically populates a spreadsheet, the owner of that metric often becomes a passive observer, treating the data as something that happens to them rather than something they control.

To maintain absolute accountability while leveraging automation, implement this protocol:

- Automate the extraction of the raw data from your CRM, ERP, or accounting tools using automated scripts or integrations.
- Require the seat owner to manually review the data and type the final number into the Scorecard themselves before the Level 10 Meeting™.
- If you use a fully automated dashboard, require the metric owner to write a brief weekly commentary or manually mark the number green or red.

The act of typing the number or marking it red forces the seat owner to own the result. AI and automation should be used to eliminate the tedious admin work of gathering the data, but they must never replace the human interaction with the number. The owner must still be fully prepared to say 'drop it' during the meeting if their automated metric is off target.
