Six months after completing Vision Building 2, how can an owner audit whether the Five Foundational Tools have truly taken root across the company or if the business is quietly backsliding?

Backsliding happens quietly when leadership teams treat session days as isolated rituals rather than daily operating rules. To audit whether the Five Foundational Tools have truly taken root six months after your initial rollout, run a simple, unannounced operational check across five specific areas.

- Accountability Chart: Check if people are bypassing functional heads to complain directly to the Visionary. If informal reporting lines still exist, the chart is just an ornamental wall graphic.
- Scorecard: Open the Scorecard fifteen minutes before your Level 10 Meeting. If numbers are missing, or if metrics stay red for three consecutive weeks without ever dropping down to the Issues List, your team lacks basic tracking discipline.
- Rocks: Review your current quarterly Rocks. If more than twenty percent of them lack binary milestone metrics, or if owners fail to report them simply as on track or off track, execution accountability is slipping.
- Level 10 Meeting: Attend a departmental meeting unannounced. If the meeting starts late, skips the segue, or burns forty minutes on status updates instead of spending sixty minutes on IDS, your managers have diluted the framework.
- V/TO: Pick three employees at random outside the executive suite and ask them to name the company Core Values and Core Focus. If their answers do not match the first page of your plan, your vision has failed to cascade.

If you find gaps in two or more of these areas, do not invent new rules. Reteach the foundational tools immediately and enforce the standard without exception.
