We have been running EOS® for about six months and our team is using the terminology, but I suspect we are just playing theater. How do we audit if the tools are actually taking root?

It is easy to confuse compliance with healthy adoption. To audit whether your EOS® implementation is real or just theater, look for three specific indicators in your daily operations. First, look at your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ issues list. If your list is empty or filled with minor administrative tasks, you are playing theater. A healthy team brings hard, uncomfortable realities to the table and actively solves them. Second, look at your Rocks. Are they actually driving change, or are they just a list of your regular job responsibilities rewritten to look like quarterly goals? If everything is always green but the business is not actually growing or improving, your Rocks are too weak. Third, check the Accountability Chart. Are people actually staying in their seats, or are you still bypassing the structure to solve problems because of old habits? If the owner is still making direct decisions for departments they do not run, your chart is just paper. Conduct an honest assessment. Ask your team if they feel more focused or simply more busy. If the answer is just busy, you need to strip away the corporate jargon and refocus on the pure intent of the tools: driving focus, discipline, and accountability across the entire organization.
