We have automated several client reporting tasks that used to take up half of an employee's week. Now that an AI workflow is doing the work, how do we assign accountability on our Accountability Chart for managing this digital worker?

An automated workflow is a tool, not a person. It can never own a seat on your Accountability Chart. Every single function and measurable in your business must be owned by a living, breathing human being who has the GWC™ to run that seat.

When you automate a task, the accountability for the accuracy and quality of that output does not vanish. It remains with the seat owner who is responsible for that function. For example, if you use AI to draft monthly client performance reports, the account manager still owns the final delivery. That manager must review the automated reports, ensure the data is accurate, and verify that the content aligns with client expectations.

If the AI system breaks or produces a bad report, the account manager is accountable for resolving the issue, not the software. Your Integrator or technology lead is responsible for the overall stability of the automation infrastructure, but the business department head owns the operational results. Make sure this distinction is absolutely clear to your team. Automation should leverage your people's time, not distance them from the results of their work. Keep your team members fully responsible for their numbers and outcomes.
