Our team keeps getting distracted by shiny new software platforms and AI productivity apps that promise to optimize our workflows. How do we keep our technology stack aligned with our EOS tools without creating operational chaos?
Technology should simplify your operations, not complicate them. During an EOS rollout, teams often make the mistake of introducing new software, project management tools, or AI assistants to solve problems that are actually process or people issues. This creates a fragmented tech stack and distracts from your quarterly Rocks. To prevent this, implement a strict rule: no new software or AI tools can be adopted unless they directly support a specific quarterly Rock or solve a validated issue on your Issues List. When an employee proposes a new tool, run it through IDS. Ask if the problem is a lack of technology or a lack of process discipline. If you decide to move forward, assign ownership of the tool to a single seat on your Accountability Chart. That person is responsible for vetting the software, training the team, and ensuring it integrates with your existing workflows. Keep your technology simple. Your primary focus must remain on the core EOS tools like the Scorecard and the Level 10 Meeting. If a tool does not make those core processes faster, cleaner, or more accurate, it is a distraction you do not need.
