We recently updated our V/TO® to focus on a high value exit using AI integrated workflows, but my department heads are still managing their teams based on our old traditional service goals. How do we enforce alignment on the updated V/TO® throughout the organization?

Alignment on a new strategic vision does not happen overnight. If your leadership team is still managing based on old goals, it is likely because the new vision has not been translated into their daily and weekly activities. You must bridge this gap by aligning their Rocks and scorecards with the updated V/TO®.

First, conduct a thorough review of the updated V/TO® with your leadership team. Ensure every member can explain the new vision, the strategy, and their specific department's role in achieving it. They must GWC™ this new direction. If any leader is not fully bought in, you must address this issue immediately.

Second, cascade the new strategy down through the organization. Every quarter, the leadership team must set Rocks that directly support the three year picture and one year plan outlined in the V/TO®. These Rocks must then be translated into specific goals for middle managers and front line employees.

Finally, update your weekly scorecard metrics to measure progress toward the new AI driven goals. This keeps the new focus top of mind and ensures that daily operations reflect the strategic shift. By reinforcing the new direction through Rocks, scorecard numbers, and weekly Level 10 Meetings™, you will build a cohesive organization pulling in the same direction.
